Obverse description The obverse displays the quartered civic arms of Breslau within a shield, divided by a cross into four quarters: upper-left bearing a crowned Bohemian lion rampant, upper-right an eagle, lower-left the Gothic letter W (for Wratislavia), and lower-right a crowned head in profile, with a bearded mask at the center point of the cross. The shield is set within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO AVR WRATISLAVIENSIS with the date 1572 distributed around the periphery.
