Obverse description A fully armored standing knight occupies the center of the field, facing right, holding an upright sword in his right hand and a bundle of arrows — the symbol of the United Provinces — in his left hand. The knight stands before a quartered shield bearing the arms of the Province of Utrecht, surmounted by a ducal crown. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO. NO. ARG. PRO. CONFŒ. BELG. TRAI., abbreviated for 'Moneta Nova Argentea Provinciarum Confoederatarum Belgii Traiectensis,' identifying this as a new silver coin of the Confederated Belgian Provinces of Utrecht.

Reverse description A crowned shield displaying the Dutch lion rampant occupies the center of the reverse field, with the date split on either side of the crown. The circumferential Latin legend CONCORDIA RES PARVÆ CRESCUNT — meaning 'By concord, small things grow' — encircles the design, serving as the motto of the Dutch Republic. The heraldic composition is rendered in a classical engraving style consistent with the long-standing ducat type tradition of the Low Countries.
