Reverse description The reverse features a large rectangular cartouche with ornate Baroque scrollwork and foliate decorations adorning all four corners and the top and bottom borders. Within the cartouche, five lines of Latin text record the coin's weight and fineness standard: '·67·' at the top, followed by 'ÆQVV: POND.', 'MARC: COL:', 'PRETII', and '23 1/2 KARAT·', indicating that 67 such coins equal one Cologne mark in weight and that the gold fineness is 23½ carats.
