Obverse description Central device depicts the pine cone of Augsburg — the city's heraldic emblem — rising from an ornate Ionic column capital rendered in baroque style, the whole surmounted by acanthus foliage. The date 1763 appears on a rectangular tablet at the base of the column, with the mintmaster's initials F • A • H below. The surrounding circular legend AVGVSTA VIN - DELICORVM reads in Latin script, distributed around the periphery, bounded by a reeded rim.

Reverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Francis I of the Holy Roman Empire facing right, with flowing curled wig rendered in high relief in the baroque manner. A small rosette ornament appears beneath the truncation of the bust. The circular Latin legend, broken by the bust, reads FRANC • I • D • G • R • I • S • A • GER • IER • REX • L • B • M • H • D • T, abbreviating his full imperial and royal titulature, and is contained within a reeded border.
