Reverse description A displayed double-headed imperial eagle fills the reverse field, each head crowned, with a shield bearing the Habsburg arms upon its breast and an imperial orb above. The surrounding legend, separated by stops, reads FERDI:III.D.G.ROM.IMP.SEM.AVG, identifying Ferdinand III as Holy Roman Emperor. The eagle's wings are spread in heraldic fashion and display fine feather detail consistent with the die-cutting standards of the Regensburg mint in the mid-17th century. The bold, authoritative imperial imagery contrasts with the civic iconography of the obverse.
