Obverse description The Hamburg city arms depicted as a three-towered castle or city gate rendered in high relief at the center of the field. The fortified structure features a central arched gateway flanked by two outer towers, each battlemented and surmounted by a six-pointed star or rosette ornament. The masonry of the wall and towers is rendered in fine detail, with no surrounding legend.
