Obverse description Central oval shield bearing the two-fold Electoral Saxon arms — divided per pale with the barry field of Saxony and the rampant lion — set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrolled foliate ornamentation. The date is divided by a small acorn motif at the bottom of the frame, a characteristic decorative convention of the Dresden mint under John George II. No peripheral legend is present, the design filling the flan.
