Reverse description Within a ribbed or corded inner circle, the crested ducal Saxon helmet is depicted centrally, surmounted by a crown and adorned with elaborate mantling extending into the field on either side. The helmet crest displays the characteristic Saxon electoral insignia. The overall composition is bold and stylized, consistent with the hammered coinage conventions of mid-sixteenth-century German States.
