| Obverse description | Crowned oval escutcheon bearing the quartered arms of Saxony, with the rampant lion of the Palatinate in the central shield, flanked by elaborate foliate and scroll mantling. The electoral arms display the distinctive barry field of Saxony with the crancelin diagonal. Mintmaster's initials I·L·H appear in the lower field beneath the shield, serving as the sole legend on this face. |
