Reverse description Central fire altar flanked by two standing attendants, each holding a staff or barsom, rendered in the degenerate imitative Sogdian style derived from Sasanian coinage of Peroz I. The altar is depicted frontally with a flame rising from its top, supported on a stepped base. Crescent and star symbols appear in the upper field on either side of the altar. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border, and subsidiary Sogdian or Pahlavi marginal inscriptions are present around the periphery, though heavily degraded.
