Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Nagari inscription filling the field, rendering the royal titulature of the issuing ruler. The legend reads 'Maharaja Sri Megha Chandra Deva', proclaiming the full regnal title of the king of Kangra. The characters are struck in the typical bold but irregular style of hammered hill-state coinage, with the inscription distributed across the flan in horizontal lines. Surface patination and die wear are consistent with a heavily circulated copper issue of the late fourteenth to early fifteenth century.
