| Obverse description | Central field depicts a stag standing to the right with an elaborately branched set of antlers, above which a Buddhist-style dharmachakra (wheel) symbol is rendered in relief. To the right of the stag stands a female figure, identified as the goddess Lakshmi, in frontal pose holding a flowering branch or lotus stem in her raised right hand. To the left of the stag appears a Brahmi monogram or symbol. The entire composition is enclosed within a circular Brahmi legend running along the periphery of the irregularly flan. |
