Additional information

The Vrishni were a kshatriya republican clan of the Mathura region, part of the broader network of janapada polities that persisted into the early centuries CE despite increasing Kushana pressure from the northwest. Their coinage is poorly documented in older catalogues and was largely classified under generic "tribal" issues until more systematic regional studies emerged in the late twentieth century. MIG 928 places this type firmly within the Vrishni sequence, though die-link studies across the series remain incomplete.
