Reverse description A displayed eagle with wings spread, head turned to sinister, stands at center bearing on its breast the quartered shield of Savoy — divided per cross with the white cross of Savoy on the dexter chief — and surmounted by a royal crown. The eagle's talons grip a chain and a scepter crossed below. The circular legend D·G·REX·SAR·CYP·ET·IER·& reads around the periphery, and the field is framed by a beaded border. The design reflects the heraldic tradition of the House of Savoy.
