Obverse description Central papal coat of arms of Sixtus V within an elaborate baroque cartouche, displaying a rampant lion on the shield. The arms are surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter, all rendered in fine relief. Flanking the shield are ornate foliate scrolls.
