Obverse description Armored bust of Francis IV, Duke of Mantua, facing right, wearing a high ruff collar and elaborately decorated plate armor. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the early Baroque style, with fine detailing on the cuirass and collar. The date 1612 appears in the lower field beneath the truncation. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy along the periphery of the coin.
