Obverse description Bare-headed draped bust of Charles Emmanuel IV facing left, with hair tied in a queue and ribbon at the nape, rendered in a restrained neoclassical style. The mint date appears in the exergue below the truncation. The royal name legend CAROLUS·EMANUEL·IV· runs along the outer periphery in Roman capitals, interrupted by the bust.

Reverse description A displayed eagle with wings spread, head turned to dexter, perched upon a sceptre and an orb or chain, bearing a quartered shield on its breast. A royal crown surmounts the eagle at the top of the field, flanked by small decorative rosettes. The circumferential legend D·G·REX·SAR·CYP·ET·IER·&· encircles the design in Latin capitals, with a beaded border running along the entire coin edge.
