Reverse description Saint Nicholas, patron and protector of Tassarolo, depicted standing facing, robed in episcopal vestments, positioned behind an ornate quartered heraldic shield with a central escutcheon, the arms arranged in four quarters. The composition is typical of Counter-Reformation Italian feudal coinage, with the saint's figure rendered in high relief above the shield. The circular Latin legend SANTVS NICOLAVS PROTECTOR NOV surrounds the design, invoking the saint as protector of the new coinage.
