Reverse description Central device depicts a stylised cartoon rabbit dressed as a racing driver seated in a Formula-style race car, set against the facade of the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral in the left field. The Chinese characters 兔年 (Year of the Rabbit) appear to the upper right, with the Macau coat of arms on a rectangular cartouche below them. Chinese characters 澳門回歸中國 are inscribed in the lower field. The legend 'YEAR OF THE RABBIT' arcs around the upper border and 'MACAU RETURNS TO CHINA' arcs around the lower border, both within a beaded ring.
