Obverse description Central field depicts a dynamic figure of a baseball pitcher in full wind-up atop a pitching mound, rendered in high relief and engraved by John R. Deecken. The pitcher wears a USA-lettered cap and full uniform, captured mid-delivery with ball raised. To the left of the figure, the five interlocking Olympic rings appear above the legend USA; to the right, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed in two lines. The legend LIBERTY arcs around the upper periphery in bold spaced letters, while the date 1992 appears in large numerals along the lower field, accompanied by the designer's initials JRD and CYM.
