Obverse description The arms of Sierra Leone occupy the central field, depicting a shield supported by two rampant lions, each flanked by a palm tree, with a scrolled ribbon below bearing the national motto. The legend REPUBLIC OF SIERRA LEONE arcs along the upper periphery, while the motto UNITY FREEDOM JUSTICE appears on the ribbon at the base of the arms.
