Reverse description Central design featuring an ornate cruciform arrangement of four Chinese seal-script characters, enclosed within an interlocking decorative frame of scrollwork and floral motifs. The date 1865 appears in the lower portion of the field. The legend ONE DOLLAR arcs across the upper field and HONG KONG along the lower periphery, both in Latin script. A continuous Greek key border runs around the entire reverse, and four additional Chinese characters are positioned at the cardinal points between the central device and the outer legends.
