Reverse description Central design composed of four cruciform shields arranged in a quatrefoil pattern, interspersed with branches of oak and separated by ornamental devices, all within a beaded inner circle. The legend ONE DOLLAR arcs across the upper portion of the field, with HONG KONG positioned below and the date 1864 at the base, all separated by stop marks. The overall composition is bold and heraldic in character, with strong relief on the shield and foliate elements. An outer beaded border surrounds the entire reverse design, consistent with the milled coinage technique employed at the Royal Mint.
