| Reverse description | The reverse presents a full-colour reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's celebrated mural painting 'The Last Supper' (c. 1495–1498), depicted across the entire rectangular field. The scene faithfully renders Christ seated at the centre of a long table, flanked by the twelve Apostles arranged in four groups of three, their gestures animated in response to the announcement of betrayal. The architectural setting — a coffered ceiling, tapestried walls, and three rear windows — is faithfully reproduced in vivid polychrome. The composition closely follows the original fresco housed at Santa Maria delle Grazie, Milan, conveying exceptional pictorial detail within the numismatic format. |
