| Obverse description | The national arms of the Federated States of Micronesia occupies the copper-nickel centre field, depicting a breadfruit plant emerging from the sea above a scroll bearing the motto PEACE · UNITY · LIBERTY, flanked by four five-pointed stars representing the four island states. The date 1979, marking the establishment of the federation, appears in the lower field below the central device. The surrounding brass ring carries the legend GOVERNMENT OF THE around the upper arc and FEDERATED STATES OF MICRONESIA along the lower arc, separated by a beaded inner border. |
