Fiji has issued commemorative silver dollars under Reserve Bank authority since the 1970s, but the "One Earth" program was part of a broader wave of Pacific-issued bullion and collector pieces that accelerated sharply after 2010, when several small-island central banks began licensing their minting rights to European producers — primarily the Czech Mint and the Perth Mint — turning nominal sovereignty into a vehicle for the international numismatic market. This coin almost certainly never circulated in Fiji.
