| Obverse description | The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield charged with five pineapples, surmounted by a crocodile passant atop a royal helmet and mantling. Two Taino figures serve as supporters on either side: a female figure to the left bearing a basket of fruit, and a male warrior to the right holding a spear, both in traditional dress. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the exergue. The legend JAMAICA arcs across the upper field, with ONE DOLLAR and the date arranged along the lower periphery. |

| Reverse description | A bold right-facing bust of Sir Alexander Bustamante, Jamaica's first Prime Minister, dominates the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and dressed in a suit jacket. The portrait, sculpted by engraver Paul Vincze whose initials P.V. appear at the lower left of the bust truncation, is set against a deeply mirrored proof field. The surrounding legend reads BUSTAMANTE across the upper arc and FIRST PRIME MINISTER 1962-67 around the lower arc, separated by raised dot stops. |
