Obverse description The full Jamaican coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield charged with five pineapples, surmounted by a crocodile passant atop a royal helmet and mantling. Two Taino figures serve as supporters on either side: a female figure to the left bearing a basket of fruit, and a male warrior to the right holding a spear, both in traditional dress. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the exergue. The legend JAMAICA arcs across the upper field, with ONE DOLLAR and the date arranged along the lower periphery.
