| Obverse description | The obverse features conjoined busts in high relief of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dr. Jonas Salk facing right, rendered in a realistic sculptural style. Roosevelt, positioned in the foreground, is depicted in a suit, while Salk, slightly behind and overlapping, wears glasses. The legend LIBERTY appears vertically along the right field, with IN GOD WE TRUST inscribed below it in smaller lettering. The date 2015 is positioned in the lower central field, with the mint mark appearing just below. The design, engraved by Michael Gaudioso, commemorates the founding of the March of Dimes and the development of the polio vaccine. |
