| Obverse description | The shield-shaped coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, supported by decorative scroll-work and surrounded by a ring of eight five-pointed stars. A traditional outrigger canoe appears above the escutcheon. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, while the inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield. The denomination 1 $ is incuse in the lower field below the coat of arms. |
