Additional information

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has issued silver bullion coinage since the 1970s, but the turtle motif carries particular local weight — the green turtle was so heavily exploited by passing ships over four centuries that it helped define the islands' early economy and name recognition among mariners long before banking did. The loggerhead is a different species, nesting on Grand Cayman's beaches, and listed as vulnerable under IUCN criteria.

At .9999 fineness, this sits above the .999 standard common to most sovereign bullion programs.
