Liberia's numismatic program in the 1990s was frankly a licensing operation — the government issued dozens of commemorative dollars aimed squarely at foreign collectors, with Star Trek franchising among the more commercially successful runs. This piece is legal tender in name only; no Liberian ever spent one on groceries.
