| Obverse description | The central field bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a shield with a sea god holding a trident seated beside a mermaid, with a crescent moon and star above, flanked by floral ornamental mantling, and a traditional outrigger canoe with a figure above the shield. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, with eight five-pointed stars distributed symmetrically on either side. The motto RAINBOW'S END appears on a scroll at the base of the shield, and the denomination 1$ is inscribed at the bottom of the field. |
