Additional information

Part of Singapore's long-running "Gardens" commemorative series, this issue marks two roads — Jalan Leban and Casuarina Road — that cut through the central catchment area of the island, a forested corridor that survived urban development largely because it sits above the island's main reservoirs. The series itself was a deliberate archival project; by the early 2000s, many of the named roads were being absorbed into housing estates or reclassified entirely, and the Mint moved quickly to document them before administrative boundaries erased them from common use.
