Additional information

Liberia's dollar series from the mid-2000s onward became a vehicle for themed collector issues with virtually no connection to Liberian monetary life — the country had been dollarized in practice for years and these pieces never circulated. This particular silver miniature was part of a wave of sub-2-gram issues produced by private minting contractors, almost certainly in European facilities, trading on the Italian brand for export collector markets rather than any domestic purpose.
