Obverse description Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field accented with fine engine-turned guilloche wave lines radiating across the background. The portrait, modelled by Humphrey Paget and bearing his initials 'HP' below the truncation, depicts the King with naturalistically engraved hair. The circumferential Latin legend reads 'GEORGIVS VI D · G · REX ET IND · IMP ·' separated by raised dot stops, with the engraver's initials 'HP' positioned discreetly at the lower right of the bust truncation. A fine beaded inner border and raised rim frame the composition.
