Obverse description Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, engraved by T.H. Paget, faithfully reproducing the portrait originally created for the 1935 Canadian silver dollar. The king is depicted wearing the Imperial State Crown and robes of state, with fine detail rendered in the beard and facial features characteristic of Paget's medallic style. The circumferential Latin legend reads GEORGIVS V REX IMPERATOR ANNO REGNI XXV, commemorating the twenty-fifth year of his reign. A beaded border frames the design, and the proof finish imparts a deeply mirrored field contrasting with the frosted relief of the portrait.
