Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Susanna Blunt, depicting a mature, bare-headed portrait of the Queen at approximately 77 years of age, facing right, adorned with a necklace and earrings. A commemorative double-date inscription '1952' and '2022' flanks the effigy, separated by four pearls symbolising the four successive royal portraits used on Canadian coinage throughout her reign. The surrounding legend reads 'ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA' in Latin script. The designer's initials 'SB' appear below the portrait truncation. This obverse design serves as a tribute to the Queen's 70-year reign, marking her Platinum Jubilee.
