Obverse description The sixth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Jody Clark, occupies the central field as a right-facing draped bust wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl drop necklace. The portrait is framed within an ornate scrollwork border from which twelve Chinese zodiac animals radiate in high relief around the circumference of the coin, including the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig. The legend ELIZABETH II 1952-2022 arcs above the portrait, with AUSTRALIA and the date 2024 flanking the right, and the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed below, all in raised Latin lettering. The engraver's initials JC appear on the truncation of the bust.
