Issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the Brunei Currency Board, which was established in 1967 following the collapse of the Malayan dollar system and Brunei's decision not to join the newly formed Malaysian ringgit. At 1.55 grams and under 14mm across, this is among the smallest silver commemoratives produced for Southeast Asian circulation — a deliberate echo of earlier fractional coinage traditions rather than any concession to economy.
