Additional information

The Bahamas has issued sport-themed circulating commemoratives since the 1970s, part of a broader Caribbean trend toward national identity coinage that doubled as tourism promotion. Golf is not incidental here — the islands host some of the most commercially significant courses in the Western Hemisphere, and the sport has been central to Bahamian tourism revenue since the 1960s development boom under Stafford Sands.

KM#154 was struck for general circulation rather than proof sets only, which makes worn examples considerably more common than uncirculated ones.
