Obverse description Uncrowned effigy of King George VI facing left, modeled by Thomas Humphrey Paget, whose initials 'HP' appear below the truncation of the neck. The portrait depicts the king in a plain, unadorned style characteristic of his Canadian coinage issues. The circumferential legend reads 'GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA REX' and is separated from the inner field by a dentilated border running the full circumference of the coin.
