| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Barbados in high relief at center, featuring a shield divided into three sections bearing a bearded fig tree and two Pride of Barbados flowers, supported by a dolphin to the left and a pelican to the right. Above the shield, a helmet and mantling are surmounted by two crossed pieces of sugarcane. A ribbon scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto. The legend BARBADOS arcs along the upper rim, while the silver fineness AG 999 and weight designation 1 OZ appear in the lower field flanking the motto scroll, and the year 2017 is inscribed at the base between two raised dots. |
