Zdeněk Lev of Rožmitál served as the highest chancellor of Bohemia under Vladislaus II and Louis II in the early sixteenth century, accumulating enough political influence to effectively govern the kingdom during Louis's minority. His inclusion in Niue's ongoing series of Bohemian nobility issues reflects the Czech mint market more than any particular Niue connection — these coins are produced for the collector trade, distributed primarily through Central European dealers.
