| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II occupies the central field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. Surrounding the portrait, the entire border is decorated with an elaborate high-relief design of foliage and berries, creating a naturalistic wreath-like frame. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II to the left and NIUE ISLAND ONE DOLLAR to the right, with the date 2015 appearing at the base. The design is characteristic of the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait generation used on Commonwealth coinage of this period. |
