Reverse description Central design features the numeral 100, with each of the two zeros containing a detailed panoramic vignette of Winnipeg's Main Street: the left zero depicts the streetscape as it appeared in 1874, and the right zero shows the same thoroughfare as it appeared in 1974, effectively contrasting the city's historical and modern development. The centennial numeral is surrounded by the city name WINNIPEG arcing above, the commemorative dates 1874–1974 flanking the central motif, and the inscriptions CANADA and DOLLAR completing the legend around the lower periphery. The design commemorates the centennial of Winnipeg's incorporation as a city.
