Reverse description The reverse displays a three-tiered wedding cake adorned with a quilted lattice pattern and pearl-like beaded borders on each tier, topped with two intertwined hearts serving as a cake topper. A bouquet of detailed roses in full bloom flanks the right side of the cake, adding a romantic floral element to the composition. The legend 'CANADA' arcs above along the upper periphery, while 'DOLLAR 2019' appears in the lower field. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the hendecagonal rim, completing the design.

Additional information

Issued to mark the 2019 wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor to Thomas Kingston, this is one of the quieter commemorative releases in the Royal Canadian Mint's circulation dollar program — a British royal event with no particular Canadian resonance beyond the Commonwealth connection. Production was folded into the Mint's standard loonie infrastructure, brass-plated steel being the workhorse composition for high-volume commemorative circulation strikes from this period. Kingston died in February 2024 at 45, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
