Reverse description The reverse presents a heroic allegorical composition by engraver Konrad Wachelko, depicting three defenders of Upper Canada during the War of 1812: a uniformed British Sergeant, a Voltigeur Canadien in his distinctive dark tunic, and an Iroquois warrior, the three figures standing united in a moment of resolve. The design conveys the multicultural alliance that successfully repelled American invasion forces, rendered with fine medallic detail in the figures' uniforms, accoutrements, and bearing. The legend CANADA DOLLAR arcs across the upper field, while the commemorative date range 1812-2012 appears in the lower field, marking the bicentennial of the conflict. The coin was issued in both Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof finishes.
