| Reverse description | The reverse is divided into two principal design zones. The upper field depicts a detailed engraved scene featuring a jaguar or puma perched on a rocky outcrop to the left, with the inscription 'URUGUAY' below it, while to the right a classical building facade flanked by trees is rendered in fine line engraving, accompanied by the inscription 'AMETHYST' and the mintmaster's initials 'FR' in the lower right corner. A dome-shaped transparent capsule inset, matching that on the obverse, is embedded in the lower half of the coin and contains multiple loose polished amethyst spherical beads that move freely within the enclosure. The curved legend 'TREASURES OF MOTHER NATURE' arcs along the lower rim in bold capital letters. The proof finish provides strong contrast between the mirror fields and the frosted relief elements. |
