| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in mature years with a pearl necklace and pearl drop earring, her hair styled in an upswept coiffure. Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations Charter, signed in San Francisco on June 26, 1945. Canada was a founding member and a significant architect of the multilateral framework that emerged from the San Francisco Conference — Lester Pearson, then Under-Secretary of State for External Affairs, played a central role in those negotiations before later winning the Nobel Peace Prize for his work during the Suez Crisis.
