Reverse description Colorized reproduction of the twelfth Station of the Cross depicting Jesus dying on the cross, based on the painted Way of the Cross cycle by Polish artist Józef Mehoffer (1869–1946), located in the Chapel of the Passion in the Basilica of the Franciscan Fathers in Kraków, Poland, painted between 1933 and 1946. The composition is rendered in full color on the rectangular silver planchet, faithfully reproducing the expressionistic painterly style of Mehoffer's original work. The Roman numeral XII appears as the sole inscription, identifying this piece as the twelfth station of the series.
